The Pride of America

America is one of a kind the country that has many rights and is allegedly free but yet in ways not. In this essay I am going to tell you why I am and I am not proud of America.

            First I am proud of this country because we are freer than many other countries like Africa, and certain parts of many other countries where there are still slaves. Also we get to pick our leader unlike England and other places where the power is just anded down. But in ways certain people in America aren’t free because of laws. In ways laws are a good thing but not every bystander feels the same about America because of these laws.

            There are also many things I don’t like about America like we are billions of dollars in debt. Because of this we owe many countries money and we are just becoming deeper and deeper in debt. While we are deeper in debt we can lose our countries allies. Also everybody says it is the land of the free but we aren’t really free. I think this because some laws forbid people from doing what they believe in or want.

            In conclusion I am proud of the country but yet I am not. Because it is supposed to be the land of the free but it’s really not.  

The Persuasion for Fun In Pewaukee

There aren’t that many things to do in Pewaukee besides hangout downtown. This is why I am trying persuading the city of Pewaukee to get a skate park. In this persuasive piece I am going to tell you some reasons why Pewaukee should get a skate park.
First of all Pewaukee doesn’t have anywhere to skateboard also if there is anywhere it’s prohibited. Because of this many kids who skateboard have no choice but to go to other cities so they can use their skate parks. Now that can be an issue because you need a ride and it takes twenty minutes or more just to get to a close one.

Many other cities have skate parks such as Delafield, Brookfield, and Milwaukee. It may be nice that Pewaukee gets one so that it’s updated and able to keep up with other cities. If the city is kept up that may also attract more people. Also like I said it would be nice and close so we wouldn’t have to travel far to go to it we could even walk. With that fact it is also a workout to get there and to skateboard.
Also a skate park in Pewaukee may bring in more business for many places. For example when people are done skate boarding they may be hungry or parched so they might go to get fast food or dine in food. They may also go to pick n save for food. Also they may go to Wal-Mart and get supplies such as wrenches to adjust parts on your skate board. They also may buy WD-40 to lube the bearings on your wheels.
In conclusion I think you should highly consider getting a skate park in Pewaukee. Because there isn’t much to do in Pewaukee, There isn’t anywhere to skate board in Pewaukee, Many other cities have skate parks, and It could bring some extra business into Pewaukee. This is why I think you should consider getting a skate park in Pewaukee.

Among The Imposters

Authors Note: This is an essay about a kid who’s trying to blend in, in a messed up world

There are people you think you knew better than anybody but then it turns out that they are exactly the opposite of what you think they are. In Among the “Imposters” by Margaret Peterson Haddix there many of twists that may surprise in ways you would think.

Luke was kid who had been hiding his whole life due to the fact that he was a third child. But one day his dead friend’s dad decides he needs to come out of hiding so he gets Luke a fake id of a kid named lee grant who died in a ski accident that his parents keep quiet. So to get Luke adjusted to a more normal world out of hiding they take him to Hendricks school for boys where he has to sleep in a room with six others who bully him every night. Not just that he also doesn’t know anyone there or what any of his classes are.

As for the the rising actions after a week into school Luke figures out that there is a door leading to the woods outside so every day he would sneak outside to escape from this odd environment around him once he gets comfortable outside he decides to plant his own garden to later find that it was trampled by a bunch of kids. Later he decides to stay outside and scout out by the time its dark he hears voices so he follows them into the middle of the woods which makes him end up listening in on their conversations and he finds out they are shadow children also. Then he over hears them talking about him so he doesn’t think and jumps out in front of them to confront them. Later he ends up being very good friends with them. Once he finally feels comfortable he was able to make it to his classes because Jason the leader of the group and the one who used to bully him hacked the main computer and gets his schedule. Later he decides he wants to actually try to do his big tests so Jason gets mad. And has a meeting without him. Which Luke didn’t care about.

Which leads up to the climax the night after Luke couldn’t sleep and he hears footsteps and finds out Jason left so he followed him. He eventually hears him at the end of the stairs talking on a cell phone which isn’t common around then. When he listens in he hears the shadow children’s real names and says no one knows I work for the population police o Luke panicked and threw the phone and attacked him with a book and ended up hurting him really bad. So Luke took Jason to the health room. Where Jason was captured by the population police who didn’t even say that he was a part of them and all of the shadow children didn’t even get caught.

Many things that you thought could never happen turn out to unfold right before your eyes. In among the imposters there were many twists that may surprise you a lot but I think it is a book worth reading.
