A Crazy Day

Authors note:This is a point of view piece of theboy form the story “thank you ma’am” by Langston hughes.
Beep beep beep was the first thing I heard as I woke up to my alarm clock. I shut it off got a feeling like it was going to be a good day. So I got up got changed and left the house.
I took a quick stroll than I saw them. Nice bright blue suede shoes when I saw them I ran into the store to take better look. Once I looked at them they fit perfect and everything. But there was one big problem the price.
Since I couldn’t afford them I decided to take somebody else's money. I walked for a few block until I saw this big lady. I thought she wasn't going to be a big problem because she would be very slow but I was wrong.
I went up and snatched the purse but it was so heavy that I lost my balance and fell next thing I know she kicked me in the behind and picked me up and started shaking me. Once I recovered she was already dragging me somewhere. I asked her where we were going and she said her house and that I had to get cleaned up.
Once we got there she said there was a sink across the room. When I walked over there I realized that there were other people in the house.  I felt safe because I knew that then she couldn't hurt me. I washed-up my face and she started to cook. When I sat down at the table she made us lima beans and ham. At first when we started to eat it felt a little awkward but then she opened up to me and told me about practically her whole life. When we were done eating she asked why I needed the money anyway and I told her about the shoes so she pulled out her pocketbook and gave me the money for it. I hesitated for a moment and than I took it and she told me it was getting late and I better get going.
Once I left I went and bought the shoes and never heard from her again.

Among The Imposters

Among the imposters is about a boy who was in hiding his whole life then was       suddenly taken out of hiding given a fake identity and put into school. When he is in school he learns to trust the wrong people with his big secret and is betrayed.
I think this would be a good book for people who like fiction, science fiction and books with a lot of surprises.

Dead Men's Path Predicting

There are specific parts of different kinds of tribes and groups that make them unique. In the story “Dead Men’s Path” by Chinua Achebe you learn that messing with the beliefs of the tribe could end bad for you.
After Obi messed with the tribe’s path they destroyed his building. Then he rebuilt it but made it more stabile and with higher security so none of the tribe members can get in accept for the children. This idea started to work for a while but than other tribes came in and helped this one out and the building ends up getting burned down.
Once this happened obi decided it was hopeless so he got out of Africa and came to America to pursue his life long dream of playing basketball
